Dunalastair Las Condes today

HISTORY

Dunalastair was founded in 1937 as a boarding school for girls, thus becoming an option for expats or people lookink fot British type education. In 1981 it became the coeducational school that it is today, and in 1990 the school moved to Las Condes, its current well situated location. In 2010 it increased in size with a purpose-built Early Childhood Centre very near the main campus.

FACILITIES

Las Condes has an auditorium with capacity for 407 people, spacious classrooms equipped with interactive screens, science laboratories, computer laboratories and a Fab Lab where robotics and programming workshops are held. Other facilities include a gym, a library, art rooms, music rooms and playgrounds for recreation and games.

REIMAGINE LEARNING

Dunalastair has three physically separated sections in different buildings. Infant School (that is Playgroup, Prekinder and Kindergarten), is housed in the ECC, Junior School, (1st to 6th grade) and Senior School, from 7th grade to IVth Media.

But beyond the administrative sections, at Dunalastair we stand out for our innovative educational project, Reimagine Learning, with which we prepare our students to face an unknown future. Our students go through different stages:

D-Inquiry: inquire and explore, from Playgroup to 4th grade.
D-Project: experiment and connect, from 5th grade to Ith Media.
D-Thinking: argue and solve, from IIth to IVth Media.

COMUNICATIONS

At Dunalastair we believe that a shared educational effort between our families and the school is fundamental for success, which is why fluid communication and information are important. For this reason we have a powerful intranet and a smartphone app that allow us to keep families informed, and parents to have access to information regarding the progress of their children.
